so apparently it's been a little over a year since my last entry. in reality, it seems much longer since i sat in my lancaster apartment, apathetic about graduation and life in general. it's funny how i felt that completing college made me develop into a completely different person. as i sit here now, i realize how much i've changed again in the past year. i'm not sure what made me start writing here again. i'm not even sure if i'll write another entry anytime soon. i think i'm the most confused i've ever really been. of course, i'm sure that some time down the road, i'll be saying that again. but regardless, it's not a feeling i can take lightly. i'm so unbelievably lost. anyone reading this probably realizes how little i talk about myself and my problems, and i suppose my desire to write another post here is indicative of a desire to vent a little about everything that's been building up. but the fact is, i really don't want to talk specifics. part of the problem, i think, is that i can't really talk about anything extremely personal with someone i don't completely know and trust, and who doesn't completely know me. and the fact is, no one really knows the me that's developed since my last post a year ago. it really makes things tough. hmm. current mood: contemplative current music: What Sarah Said - Death Cab for Cutie - Plans

so friday night was band practice, and then sin fucking city. holy shit. that's all i have to say about that, besides "go see it right this instant if you haven't." afterwards we went to a bit of a party at guy's, and i got to try that cool blavod stuff (black vodka). it's actually pretty good, and definitely worth the visual appeal. guy made me a screwdriver and floated the black vodka on top of the orange juice...it looks awesome. saturday was the party at adam's. i saw some folks from home, which was nice. one of them was caitlin, whom i haven't seen in ages - a nice surprise. also, timmE learned that it is not possible to smoke a taquito. i met a worthy smash bros. challenger in brooks, and had some good matches. props to his falco. sunday-monday have consisted of my attempting to do work, but failing miserably. and waiting oh-so-impatiently for my naruto game. it's gonna rock so hard. so today, i finally heard back from the jet program. turns out, i've been accepted as an alternate for the position of assistant language teacher. so what that means is, if enough people don't accept the position or end up getting fired for having inappropriate relations with schoolgirls (or something like that), they will eventually send me as a replacement. ironic, ne? so here's how it works. i need to confirm that i'm interested in being an alternate by the end of this month. if i do so, they can offer me a position if one becomes available anytime between now and september. at that point, i can either accept or decline. if i decline my alternate status now, or decline a position if and when they offer me one, i will be ineligible to apply for jet next year. so here's my plan: i'm going to act like i'm not going to japan. i'll go about making post-college plans as if the japan thing is definitely not happening. i'll also accept the position as an alternate. if they contact me and tell me that they need me, then i'll see what i want to do at that point. what do you think of the idea? it'd be great to have some advice from friendly folk, so any comments/advice are appreciated. so now i'm looking for jobs. and i think i'm qualified for this one: (a * means i have it, or it's just a bullshit buzzword) Technical Support Representative Blizzard is seeking computer-savvy individuals to provide assistance to our customers via telephone, e-mail, chat rooms, and Battle.net forums! teh intarweb is completely fucked up today. it all started off with this afternoon's fark.com and cosplay.com problems. i was gone for most of the evening, but as soon as i returned, i was fortunate enough to witness the great AIM crash of aught-five. it seems like it was a big deal. both adam and i got booted off of AIM simultaneously, and then we couldn't sign back on for about half an hour. even when we could get back, there were only three people on my buddy list. and we weren't getting each other's IMs. gradually, people started appearing again, but as i write this, there are only 12 people out of the usual 3x online from my buddy list. and fark.com seems really messed up now... but here's the kicker. i'm browsing around at lik-sang.com, (importer of all things video game - click it, you know you want to) and i'm looking at the nifty little deal they have going where you can get the gamecube import boot discs and naruto gekitou ninja taisen 3 in a discount package with free shipping. those of you who have spoken to me on the subject of my gamecube (or are attentive regarding my lj posts) will know that i've been pretty excited about that game. 3d fighting, naruto, 29 playable characters, signature moves, up to 3v3 team battles, the anime was practically *made* to be turned into a fighting game...gaara...the list goes on. so i've been thinking about getting it, wondering if i'd be able to afford buying it in time for anime boston. i was looking around at the shipping options, seeing if it'd be possible to upgrade the shipping so i could wait it out 'til around the middle of next month. i was sitting there at the screen with the total cost, where it also said "enter your paypal info to log into your account so you can buy this." i was also talking on the phone with adam at the time. suddenly, i heard the noise my computer makes when i have a new e-mail. wondering who would be e-mailing me at 1:47 am, i looked... Dear Chris Silansky Thank you for your Order at Lik-Sang.com! Did you know that you can see the status of your order, track your package, print an invoice or update your personal information on our web site? wtf. apparently, i somehow just bought naruto 3. and boot discs. wtf. current mood: confused
